Over the next year I will be working on a new photography series documenting barns in Ontario, mostly in the Kawartha Lakes area. I’ve seen so many of these barns be blown over by high winds or just fall apart due to not being repaired as farmers are not using them anymore. I’ve decide to photograph the interiors of them, a part that most people don’t ever get to see. While documenting the barns I will do my best to find out as much as I can about them. When they were built and what they were used for.
The first barn is a barn down in Sunderland, Ontario. It’s estimated it was built late 1800’s to early 1900’s based on the hand made square nails and the beams cut by hand.
I look forward to this journey and if anyone out there has a barn they would like to photograph, don’t hesitate to contact me.
